Description

It's summer now, and there can never be too many shashlik recipes. There are so many reasons to head outdoors or simply relax with friends at home! The special flavor of this shashlik comes from the marinade made with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and vegetable oil. The taste is simply incredible—bright and rich. Of course, this isn't a classic shashlik, but those who love experimenting in the kitchen will definitely enjoy this recipe.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Cut the pork into small pieces (I cut them smaller than for regular shish kebab grilled on a barbecue). You can choose lean pork, or fattier cuts, which will make the kebab more juicy.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Prepare the marinade: mix soy sauce, vegetable and sesame oil (you can substitute with flaxseed oil), sugar, minced ginger and garlic. Also add sesame seeds. I don't add salt to the marinade because there's plenty of soy sauce, but you can add a little salt to taste.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Cut the onion into small pieces and add it to the sauce together with the meat. Mix well, cover with a weight, and refrigerate for at least one hour, but preferably 2–3 hours.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Alternately thread the meat and onion onto wooden skewers. I ended up with 3 kebabs. Bake the kebabs in the oven at 180 degrees until cooked through (about 30 minutes), or grill them. While baking in the oven, I also baste the kebabs several times with the remaining sauce, so the meat absorbs all the flavors and develops an incredible taste!

    Step 6

    Step 6

Thai skewers are ready. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions.

    and a joyful feast!
