Cheese pie made with puff pastry
Description
Perfect for tea and coffee. This pie is very quick to prepare, especially if you have ready-made puff pastry. I always keep a portion of such pastry in my freezer, just in case – and I highly recommend you do the same. It's very convenient: the pastry thaws quickly, and the filling is prepared in no time. So if unexpected guests drop by, you'll have delicious baked goods ready to serve :) I've shared the recipe. The pastry is ready. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a small bowl, grate the hard cheese and feta cheese on a coarse grater.
- 2
Step 2

Add 2 eggs to the grated cheese. The yolk from the third egg will be needed to brush the pie. You can add the white to the cheese mixture, but make sure the filling isn't too runny.
- 3
Step 3

Mix the cheese and eggs. You can add salt if your cheese is not very salty. You can also add ground pepper, dried herbs to the filling—everything depends on your taste and preference.
- 4
Step 4

Roll out half of the dough slightly thicker than the size of the pan you'll use to bake the pie. Place the dough into the pan and form the edges.
- 5
Step 5

Spread the filling in an even layer.
- 6
Step 6

Roll out the remaining dough and cover the pie with it. You can make slits in the top layer to create a flower shape, or arrange the dough in strips to form a lattice—use your imagination. Brush the future pie with egg yolk.

Step 7

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.
