
Cheese puffs with green onions
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. This simple yet very tasty cheese snack takes only half an hour to prepare and can be made either ahead of time or right before serving. Cheese puffs can be served instead of regular yeast bread. They pair perfectly with turkey. This recipe yields 24 cheese puffs. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Cut the butter into 4 pieces. Finely chop the green onion and grate the cheese. Bring water, butter, and salt to a boil in a medium-sized saucepan. Remove from heat and mix in the flour. Cook over medium heat until the mixture becomes slightly glossy and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 3 minutes.

2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the eggs one at a time, beating with a mixer after each addition. You should end up with a sticky dough. Mix in the cheese and green onions. Divide the dough into 24 equal portions, placing the mounds on baking sheets about 2.5 cm apart. At this stage, the mounds can be wrapped in plastic wrap or foil and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

3. Bake the cheese puffs until golden brown for about 30 minutes if they were at room temperature, and 35 minutes if they were previously refrigerated or frozen. Serve immediately.
