Syrniki with hard cheese and herbs

Description

Homemade baked goods for tea. Such syrniki are not quite the usual dish. For the most part, homemakers prepare the sweet version of this lovely cottage cheese treat. However, sugar is not beneficial for everyone, and for some it is contraindicated. That is when these lovely, fluffy, golden-brown syrniki come to the rescue. Choose cottage cheese and cheese to your taste. Herbs are also up to you. The dish is simple and will not take much time. Take note: you can serve them with tea or coffee.

    Prepare the ingredients for making syrniki.

    Put the cottage cheese in a bowl and crack in the egg. Mash well with a fork or spoon until smooth and even.

    Add salt and sifted flour to the bowl and mix.

    Grate the hard cheese and chop the herbs. Add them to the cottage cheese with egg and flour.

    Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. You should end up with quite a stiff dough.

    Divide the dough into balls weighing approximately 50–60 grams. Roll each ball in flour.

    Shape the balls into syrniki. With a wide knife, press the balls down from above and trim the sides with the knife. You get neat, round little discs.

    Pan-fry the syrniki over medium heat on both sides until golden brown with a crisp crust.

    Transfer the cheese pancakes with hard cheese and herbs to a plate. Serve hot with sour cream.
