
Syrniki according to GOST
Description
Syrniki – a favorite dish of many children who don’t like to eat plain cottage cheese. Serving them with jam or preserves, you can be sure that the kids will eat them with pleasure and even ask for seconds. Serve them warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Pass cottage cheese of any fat content through a sieve into a deep bowl.

Add the granulated sugar and salt there as well, crack in a small chicken egg and mix thoroughly.

Add wheat flour, sifting it first. Reserve some flour for dusting and breading the cheese cakes. Mix and shape the cottage cheese dough into a sausage.

Cut off pieces of the sausage with a knife, shape them into curd cheese patties at least 2 cm thick. Coat them all over with flour.

Heat the pan and pour vegetable oil into it. Heat it for 1 minute and reduce the heat to medium. Place the pieces in the oil and fry each side for 1‑2 minutes until golden brown.

After flipping them to the other side, reduce the heat to the minimum so that the syrniki fry perfectly and are cooked through.

Place the finished dish onto plates, garnish to taste, and serve warm with fresh berries or sour cream.
