Cheese in Breadcrumbs
Description
This appetizer is quick and simple to make. It’s a fairly straightforward breaded cheese recipe, although cooking does take quite a while. If you like, you can put the cheese straight into the pan, but it’s better to chill it in the refrigerator first. This appetizer can be served hot or cold. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions

Step 1

1. In the recipe for cheese in breadcrumbs, you can use absolutely any hard cheese you like. It should be cut into small cubes or strips (the shape can be any you prefer).
- 2
Step 2

2. Beat the egg with a fork with a pinch of salt and pepper if desired. You can also use spices—in the egg or in the breading. Dried herbs are also an excellent option. Dip each piece of cheese in the egg, then coat all sides with breadcrumbs.

Step 3

3. For breaded cheese to hold its shape well when frying at home, chill it in the refrigerator first. Ideally for about 3 hours, but less time is fine too.
- 4
Step 4

4. The amount of vegetable oil may also vary. This simple breaded cheese recipe can be used for both deep frying and regular pan frying. Be sure to heat the oil thoroughly.

Step 5

5. Place the cheese in the pan and sear over high heat until golden brown on all sides, turning carefully.

Step 6

6. For best results, place the finished cheese on a paper towel to remove any remaining oil from the breading. That’s it — the appetizer is ready to serve, complemented with your favorite sauce.
