Homemade Cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The original recipe for making Philadelphia cream cheese at home is impossible without a special ingredient—starter culture. If you couldn't find the starter culture, you can experiment with the ingredients, trying to get the flavor closer to the original. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Pour the milk into a convenient container. The starter culture is usually intended for 3 liters of milk, but if desired, it can be divided and used to prepare as much as you need.

Step 2

2. Take the starter out of the refrigerator ahead of time so it can sit at room temperature for a while, then add it to the milk. The required milk temperature and amount are usually listed on the starter packaging. After about 3 minutes, gently stir the starter into the milk.

Step 3

3. This is a fairly simple homemade "Philadelphia" cheese recipe (although much depends on the type of starter culture), so next you just need to cover the container with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place for 10-12 hours.

Step 4

4. After approximately 10 hours, the cheese will begin to thicken, but will not yet reach the desired consistency.

Step 5

5. The homemade Philadelphia cheese recipe is nearing the finish line — all that's left is to place it on cheesecloth folded four times and let the whey drain. The finished cheese can be served immediately or enhanced with spices or herbs to taste.
