Pork Tongues in the Oven
Description
I don't cook tongue very often; I mainly use it only for making jellied meat. For those who don't know, I'll say that it can be added to salads or used to make burgers. Pork tongue can even be given to children, since it's not fatty and is very healthy. For baking, you can use any spices you like best, for example, an Italian blend or salt and pepper.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Wash the pork tongue and place it in a large pot, cover it with cold water, and leave it for 3 hours.
- 2
Step 2
After the required time has passed, remove the tongue, trim off the brown part at the tip, and pat it dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- 3
Step 3
Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press, transfer to a bowl, add salt and pepper mixture, and mix thoroughly.
- 4
Step 4
Rub the tongue with the prepared mixture; don't forget the tip and the base.
- 5
Step 5
Transfer the meat to an airtight container and refrigerate for 3 hours (or overnight) to marinate.
- 6
Step 6
Transfer the tongue into a roasting bag and place it in an oven preheated to 200°C for 90 minutes.
- 7
Step 7
Remove the tongue and take it out of the sheath; you can trim off the membrane or leave it (it is somewhat tough).
- 8
Step 8
Serve the tongue already cooled, as a cold appetizer.
