Korean-Style Pig Ears
Description
A tasty snack for any gathering. These days you can often find similar snacks on store shelves. Instead of buying them at an inflated price, I suggest making them yourself. The cooking process is quite lengthy, but the result is definitely worth it. This is an excellent beer snack. Serve the snack at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Wash the pig ears and place them in a bowl, cover with cold water, and leave for 60 minutes.
- 2
Step 2
After an hour, transfer the ears to a sieve and rinse with boiling water. Scrape the ears thoroughly with a knife, especially in hard-to-reach areas (you may cut them open).
- 3
Step 3
Transfer the ears to a pot, cover with water, place over heat, and simmer for 2 hours; add salt 30 minutes before they are done.
- 4
Step 4
Remove the finished ears from the water and transfer them to a plate to cool, then cut them into strips.
- 5
Step 5
Add sugar, soy sauce, Korean spices, and red pepper to the minced ears.
- 6
Step 6
Peel and press the garlic cloves through a garlic press, pour in the apple cider vinegar, and mix everything well.

Step 7
Heat the vegetable oil and pour it over the ears. Mix and refrigerate for 24 hours. Serve the ears cold.
