Step 1

1. First, wash, dry, and cut the ribs into pieces. Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan and add the ribs. This recipe for pork ribs with rosemary also works well for lamb or beef ribs. Sear over medium heat until a light crust forms.

Step 2

2. Place the seared ribs into a heavy-bottomed pot or saucepan. It's best to choose a fairly large vessel so that the ribs can be arranged in a single layer on the bottom.
- 3
Step 3

3. Evenly drizzle honey on top. If the honey has crystallized, you can slightly melt it in a water bath or in the microwave.
- 4
Step 4

4. Add tomato sauce or paste, previously diluted with a small amount of water. If the sauce contains spices (spicy or salty), this should be taken into account when adding the following ingredients to the dish.

Step 5

5. Peel the onion and slice into small half-rings. Transfer to a frying pan (you can use the same one in which the ribs were fried) and sauté briefly.

Step 6

6. Place the fried onions on top of the ribs. Peel and mince the garlic (you can chop it with a knife or press it through a garlic press) and add it to the pan as well. To make spicy pork ribs with rosemary at home, you can add finely chopped chili pepper.

Step 7

7. Now season lightly with salt and add ground pepper to taste. Place rosemary and bay leaf on top. Cover the pan with a lid and place over low heat. Simmer the ribs for about 40-50 minutes, until cooked through.
