Pork in a wok
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. This is my favorite recipe for cooking pork in a wok because I love spicy food, especially when it comes to meat. What immediately appealed to me about this dish is that it takes only minutes to make, and when I tasted this pork, I realized I'd be preparing it quite often from now on. If you're not a fan of spicy food, you can make the wok pork less hot by using less green chili pepper or omitting it altogether. 1) First, slice the slightly frozen pork across the grain into thin (0.5 cm) slices. 2) Peel and wash the onion and chili pepper, then cut them into large pieces. 3) Place the wok over high heat, add a little oil, then add the pork slices and sear for about a minute on each side. 4) Next, add the onion and pepper to the wok, continue cooking over high heat for another 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally. 5) Then pour water into the wok, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir well, reduce the heat, cover the wok with a lid, and simmer the pork for 5–7 minutes. 6) After that, remove the lid, add basil, cook for another 3–5 minutes, then take the wok off the heat. So, the entire cooking process takes only about 20–25 minutes—quite impressive, I think. Enjoy your meal! The dish is ready to be served.
