Pork with currants
Description
For preparing pork with currants, you can use either black or red berries. This time I had red ones—they pair better with meat, in my opinion. Serve the finished dish on grape leaves; it looks very impressive. You can also add a mix of peppers or coriander among the spices.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We wash the pork and cut it into small pieces.
- 2
Step 2

Marinade: mix salt, vinegar (preferably rice vinegar) with the juice of half a lemon, spices, and add sugar. Mix everything well and marinate the meat for half an hour.
- 3
Step 3

Then we squeeze the meat from the marinade and fry it on a hot skillet. Let the juice evaporate.
- 4
Step 4

Fry until golden brown.
- 5
Step 5

After that, place the grape leaves, meat, currants, and a little water (one-third of a cup) into a clean skillet. Simmer over high heat for about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Here is the pork with currants, ready to serve.
