Description

The recipe won't take much time. My husband found the recipe for Roman-style pork; he also made it for me, and now it's become one of our favorite dishes. To be honest, I have no idea whether Italians even know about this dish or if it's called "Roman" simply because it includes tomatoes and cheese. But I'm absolutely certain about one thing—no one can remain indifferent to this amazing pork, as it turns out so juicy and tender that it simply melts in your mouth. For me, this dish is one of the best, because it combines all the ingredients I love: meat, vegetables, mushrooms, cheese, and, of course, cream—everything tastes incredible with cream. This is a true culinary masterpiece, and I believe it deserves a worthy place among other recipes. Now I'm happy to share with you how to make Roman-style pork. Serve hot.

Instructions

    Step 1

Cut the pork into small pieces and fry in a pan with vegetable oil until golden brown. Fry over high heat.

Tomatoes need to be peeled, so we make cross-shaped incisions on them and pour boiling water over them; now the skin should come off easily.

    Step 3

Transfer the pork to a baking dish, salt it, and sprinkle with spices. Cut the ham into small cubes and place half of it on the meat.

Slice the tomatoes into half-rings and place them on top of the ham.

    Step 5

Slice the mushrooms into pieces, place them on top of the tomatoes, then add the remaining ham. In a bowl, mix the cream with ketchup, season with salt, add thyme and oregano, then pour the prepared sauce into the baking dish.

    Step 6

Cover the dish with a lid or foil and place it in a preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Then remove it, sprinkle the meat with cheese grated on a coarse grater, return to the oven, and cook for another 30 minutes. Serve the cooked pork with a vegetable salad or any side dish of your choice.
