Pork knuckle in wine
Description
Meat cooked in wine turns out tender and very juicy. You can optionally add peeled onions and carrots, but only to enhance the meat's flavor, not as a vitamin supplement. Serve the stewed knuckle with sauces.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Thoroughly rinse the knuckle in water.
- 2
Step 2

Place it in a cauldron or a pot with a non-stick bottom. Add bay leaves, black peppercorns, and other spices to your taste.
- 3
Step 3

Add salt, pour in red wine and water. Place the container on the stove and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer the knuckle covered for about 1.5–2 hours, depending on its size.
- 4
Step 4

By this time, almost all the liquid will have evaporated and been absorbed into the meat, and a rich wine aroma will fill the kitchen.
- 5
Step 5

Place the knuckle removed from the wine onto a serving dish and serve with sour cream, garlic sauce, light mayonnaise, or sliced vegetables.
