Steak in an air fryer
Description
The recipe won't take much time. We'll use vegetable oil in minimal amounts, only to give the meat an appetizing crust. Juicy and tender steaks turn out best from young beef or veal. I recommend using pre-cut fillet. The same rule applies to pork; if you choose poultry, go for fatty cuts—ideally, thigh meat. Cooking time will vary depending on your desired doneness. Serve hot with fresh or roasted vegetables, and choose any sauce to your taste. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Let the steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. Rinse the meat and pat it dry; if necessary, remove any membranes or connective tissue. To make the dish exceptional, use thick and large cuts—such a steak will develop a nice crust on the outside while remaining perfectly cooked inside. The optimal thickness is no less than 2.5 cm, but no more than 4 cm.

Step 2

Using the ridged part of a kitchen mallet, lightly pound the beef tenderloin, which should be wrapped in plastic wrap or placed in a bag beforehand. During pounding, juice will be released from the meat; remove it with a paper towel.

Step 3

Brush the piece with vegetable oil, then rub with salt and pepper. Sea salt and ground black pepper are most commonly used, but you can also use dried garlic, basil, or Provence herbs if desired. Let the meat marinate for no more than 10–15 minutes.

Step 4

Place the steak on the middle rack of the air fryer, with the temperature set to 200 degrees.
- 5
Step 5

Fry for about 10 minutes for rare, 12 minutes for medium, and 14 minutes for well done (medium well).
- 6
Step 6

Then flip the steak and sear the other side for 2-5 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

The steak in the air fryer is ready. Determine the doneness using a knife.
- 8
Step 8

Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Slice the steak across the grain into 0.5-1 cm thick slices and serve hot with vegetables and sauces.
