Steak with mushrooms
Description
The day before cooking, take the meat out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. 45-60 minutes before cooking, remove the meat from the refrigerator, take it out of the packaging, and let it sit at room temperature. All other details can be found in the step-by-step recipe.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Take the meat out of the refrigerator at least 45–60 minutes before cooking. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, season both sides with salt and pepper, and gently rub the salt and pepper into the meat with your fingers.
- 2
Step 2

Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sear the steaks on one side until a golden brown crust forms. Do not move or pierce the meat while cooking. Flip the steaks and sear the other side until a similar crust develops. I cooked each side for about 3 minutes, achieving a medium doneness. Using tongs, stand the steak on its edge and sear all sides to seal in the juices. Remove the meat from the skillet and let it rest for 5–7 minutes.

Step 3

Wash the mushrooms and dry them. Wash and peel the onion.
- 4
Step 4

Sauté the chopped onion in the remaining oil until translucent.
- 5
Step 5

Add dried garlic, mushrooms sliced into thin slices, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 5 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Move the mushrooms to the side, add the butter and melt it. Add the flour and sauté until golden.
- 7
Step 7

Pour in the broth and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute.
- 8
Step 8

Place the steaks in the sauce and cook for a couple of minutes. Serve immediately.
