
Steak with French sauce
Description

1. Peel and finely chop the onion. Add half of the olive oil to a frying pan and place over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Stir frequently during cooking to prevent the onion from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

2. Remove the onion from the skillet, add the remaining oil and heat over medium heat. Add the pork. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes on one side, depending on your preference. Flip and cook for another 1½ to 3½ minutes on the other side.

3. Three minutes before the meat is done, return the onion to the skillet and pour in the red wine. Stir the liquid for the next three minutes until it reaches a syrup-like consistency. Watch the consistency carefully to prevent the mixture from becoming too thick.
