Cabbage Steak in the Oven
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. Ideally, the cabbage in this recipe should stay slightly crisp, but if you prefer a more tender taste, leave the cabbage in the oven a little longer than the time indicated. This will also depend on the thickness of the sliced steaks—the thinner you slice them, the more tender the appetizer will be. I slice them 5-7 mm thick. This cabbage is good both hot and cooled. You can serve it as an appetizer with various sauces, or as a side dish with meat. The recipe will appeal to all vegetable lovers; the main requirement is that you must use only fresh, young cabbage. Give it a try. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.

Step 2

Remove any dirty leaves from the cabbage, cut it in half, and slice it into flat pieces (the thinner, the better). Do not remove the core; it helps the leaves stay intact and keeps them from falling apart during cooking.

Step 3

Transfer the chopped cabbage to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Season with salt, sprinkle with salt, spices, and pressed garlic, and drizzle with olive oil.
- 4
Step 4

Sprinkle the cabbage with grated cheese on top and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.

The cabbage steak is ready. Sprinkle the appetizer with fresh herbs and serve.
