Description
Homemade sauce is easy and quick to prepare. "Tonkatsu" sauce is very popular in Japan and goes well with any fried meat. After cooling, transfer the sauce into a clean, dry jar, seal tightly, and store in the refrigerator. It can be stored under these conditions for up to 4 weeks. The sauce is ready. Keep it refrigerated and serve with dishes.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making Japanese "Tonkatsu" sauce.

Pour soy sauce and sake into a saucepan, add tomato paste. Add sugar and mix until smooth.

Peel the garlic and grate finely. Add to the pot with the tomato-soy mixture.

Peel the ginger, grate finely on a fine grater. Add to the pot with the mixture.

Mix everything well.

Place over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to the lowest setting and simmer, stirring, for 25 minutes. Cool and serve as a side dish.
