
Tomato sauce
Description
The sauce is prepared in just a few minutes. The ready hot tomato sauce can be served immediately with a dish or stored in a jar for up to two weeks. The prepared sauce can be kept in the refrigerator for several days.

Step 1

1. Peel the onion and cut it into cubes. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat and sauté the onion, stirring, until it becomes translucent.

2. Add the peeled and chopped carrots. Fry for another 5 minutes, stirring.

3. Add the peeled and minced garlic to the skillet. Fry for another minute.

4. Then add the canned tomatoes with their juice to the pan. If they are whole, chop them first. Add to the pan.

5. Add the spices and chopped basil as well, mix. Bring to a boil. Then simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

6. The sauce will turn out aromatic and thick.

7. Pour the tomato sauce into a blender and blend. Although sometimes I like the sauce with chunks of tomatoes—it's a matter of personal preference. The tomato sauce is ready.
