Sauce for nachos
Description
Homemade sauce recipe. I'll tell you right now—serve the sauce with meat, fish, or use it as a salad dressing.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

In a small saucepan (sauté pan), heat the butter cut into cubes (not necessary). Add flour to it. Stir until boiling. Once it starts to boil, keep cooking for another minute.

Step 2

Then, slowly pour in the milk (it should be at room temperature), constantly stirring. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting. As soon as the sauce thickens, turn off the heat.

Step 3

Add the grated cheddar (if you don't have this cheese, use any other hard variety). Stir until the cheese melts completely and blends into the mixture. If necessary, place the pot over a very, very low heat.

Step 4

At the end, add salt and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly again. If the sauce seems too thick to you, add a little more milk.
