Unlike store-bought ketchup and canned sauces, right? So I highly recommend making it yourself, especially since it's very easy. Here's how: 1. First, wash the tomatoes thoroughly, pour boiling water over them, and remove the skins. 2. Wash the herbs and finely chop them. 3. Peel the onion and garlic, then cut them into small pieces. 4. Put the onion, garlic, and herbs into a blender and blend until smooth. You should get a greenish paste. 5. Add the tomatoes to the herb mixture and blend everything together. 6. Pour olive oil into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and heat it on the stove. Add the blended mixture. 7. Bring the mixture to a boil, season with salt, and add sugar to taste. For extra heat, blend in some chili pepper. 8. Simmer over low heat, covered, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Done! I prefer thinner sauces, which I use as salad dressings or meat accompaniments, so it took me about half an hour. If you like thicker sauces, you'll need to cook it longer.
