Description

The name of the sauce almost fully reveals its contents. The sauce is based on mayonnaise with the addition of cornichons—small pickled cucumbers. You can also use regular pickled cucumbers, the main condition being that they shouldn't be too watery. To make this sauce lighter, I replace mayonnaise with sour cream in a one-to-one ratio. You can also prepare it solely with mayonnaise or substitute the sour cream with plain yogurt. This sauce can be served not only with hot dishes, but also deliciously and simply with a piece of rye bread or as a filling for pita. Be sure to try it.

    Prepare all the ingredients.

    Grate the gherkins on a fine grater and lightly squeeze out the excess juice.
