Horseradish sour cream sauce
Description
A delicious addition to everyday and festive dishes. Homemade natural sauces are great because you can adjust their spiciness according to your personal taste preferences. If desired, you can add aromatic herbs and your favorite spices to the homemade horseradish and sour cream sauce. Serve the sauce with meat or fish, or use it as a salad dressing.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, choose the largest horseradish roots and peel them. I should mention right away that the sauce base is made in excess, so if desired, you can reduce the amount of ingredients.

Step 2

2. Next, the root needs to be minced. There are at least two ways to do this: you can grate the root on a grater or pass it through a meat grinder, for example. The first method is suitable if you plan to make horseradish with sour cream sauce at home in small quantities.

Step 3

3. Bring the water to a boil, pour it over the grated horseradish. Cover with a lid and leave on the table until completely cooled.

Step 4

4. Then add the sugar, salt, and mix everything thoroughly. Add vinegar and (if desired) other spices to taste. After mixing, place the horseradish in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

Step 5

5. The horseradish base is ready. Next, the recipe for horseradish sauce with sour cream is incredibly simple. Take the prepared horseradish and sour cream in a 1:2 ratio (for example, 50 grams of horseradish to 100 grams of sour cream). Mix thoroughly. Before serving, you can add some chopped fresh herbs to the sauce. The prepared horseradish base stores well in the refrigerator.
