Blackberry Sauce

Description

In a small saucepan, combine: sugar, water, and blackberries. Be sure to wash the blackberries, remove any debris, stems, and discard damaged berries. Place the saucepan over heat and bring to a boil, then cook for 5 minutes, gently stirring with a wooden spatula. It's very important that the berries release their juice—crush a few berries with a pestle, and remove any large pieces of crushed fruit with a spoon. However, stir as carefully as possible to keep the whole berries looking nice. If you're serving the blackberry sauce with meat, reduce the amount of sugar. Good luck! Perfect served with pasta, meat, and vegetables.
