Remove seeds from the hot pepper and slice into rounds. Peel the garlic and slice into pieces. Wash the parsley and basil, dry them, and finely chop.

Wash the prunes in warm water, remove the pits if necessary, and transfer them to a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
