
Cranberry sauce for meat

A tasty addition to everyday and festive dishes. Cranberry sauce is often served with meat, as it adds a pleasant tartness. It is very difficult to find a worthy substitute. If you want to diversify your table, use lingonberries to make the sauce. But cranberries will work just as well. It's very simple to prepare.

Place the berries in a colander and remove the leaves. Rinse the cranberries thoroughly. If using frozen ones, there's no need to thaw them beforehand.

Place the berries in a saucepan, pour in the water, and put over heat. Bring to a boil.

Add granulated sugar to the boiling mixture, stir and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.

Simmer the contents over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then remove the pot from the heat and place it in cold water, stirring the sauce for 2 minutes.

When serving the sauce with meat, chill it, but serve the pancakes or blinis with warm sauce.
