
Strudel sauce
Description
The sauce takes just a few minutes to prepare. Today, we'll make a sweet sauce for apple or cherry strudel. You can prepare it ahead of time and simply reheat it in a saucepan before serving. Try serving this sauce with other desserts too, as it's quite versatile and pairs well with many sweet dishes. The finished sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.

Place the milk in a saucepan over heat, add grated vanilla or 8 g of vanilla sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over low heat.

Beat the egg yolks with sugar. Add starch to them, then pour in slightly cooled milk. Mix everything into a homogeneous mass.

Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and place it over heat. Reduce to the desired consistency, stirring constantly. Then remove from heat and immediately add the butter. Mix well.

When the sauce has cooled slightly, strain it through a sieve. You can serve it immediately, or store it in the refrigerator until needed.
