Description

Homemade sauce is easy and quick to prepare. In the fall, when you have leftover tomatoes of any shape and size, you can make a lot of delicious ketchup from them. To add a light fruity note and thickness, we'll include apples. I'm happy to share this recipe with you. The finished sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.

    Prepare the ingredients. Wash the tomatoes and apples.

    Pass the tomatoes and parsley through a meat grinder. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.

    Add the chopped onion and peeled apples, diced. Cook for 25 minutes.

    Blend until smooth, then add spices, salt, and mustard. Tie dill seeds, cloves, and black pepper in a cheesecloth bag and place it into the saucepan. Cook until the desired thickness is reached, for 30–40 minutes. Add sugar and mix well. Pour in vinegar and bring the sauce to a boil. Remove the spice bag.

    Pour the ketchup into sterilized jars and seal with clean lids. Yield of the finished product - 2 l.
