Mussel sauté
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Serve the mussel sauté hot, together with the resulting vegetable sauce. This dish is especially delicious with fresh unsweetened baked goods, toasted bread, croutons, and various sauces. If using boiled-frozen mussels, cooking time will be 2-4 minutes, while fresh mussels require at least 5-8 minutes. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the onion and garlic cloves, rinse in water, and chop into small cubes. Heat vegetable oil in a cauldron or a high-sided skillet, then add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Wash the tomatoes and peppers, remove the seeds from the peppers and the green cores from the tomatoes. Cut into large pieces and add to the container. The sauté cut should be large! Simmer for about 5-7 minutes over medium heat — the tomatoes will release their juice.

Step 4

Rinse the mussels and add them to the container. If using mussels in shells, remember that they must be closed.
- 5
Step 5

Season the dish with salt and pepper, mix well, and simmer for about 2-3 minutes so that the mussels absorb the vegetable sauce.

Step 6

Place the sauté on a plate and serve hot.
