Solyanka with canned stewed meat
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. White cabbage is used, which can be easily purchased at any time of the year. Thanks to the use of canned stewed meat (tushonka), the dish acquires a special flavor. The solyanka is very simple to prepare and uses readily available ingredients. This is an excellent option for dinner or lunch. Serve the solyanka hot. 1. Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage, wash it thoroughly, and finely shred it. Transfer to a colander and rinse once more under running water. 2. Open the can of stewed meat (tushonka), transfer it to a heavy-bottomed pot, place over low heat, and wait until the fat melts. Add dill seeds and cumin. 3. Add the prepared cabbage to the stewed meat and cook for 15 minutes under a closed lid. 4. Peel and wash the carrot, grate it coarsely. Peel and wash the onion, then cut into medium-sized cubes. 5. Add the chopped carrot and onion to the cabbage, mix well, season with pepper and salt to taste, and cook under a closed lid for 30 minutes. 6. Serve the finished solyanka immediately while hot, garnished with fresh herbs and tomatoes. The dish is now ready to be served.
