
Blackcurrant buns
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. These flaky, buttery rolls are prepared very quickly—just 15 minutes of preparation and 15 minutes of baking in the oven. You'll get 8 to 12 rolls, depending on their size. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add butter and cut it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2. In a bowl, beat two eggs. Add the cream and mix.

3. Pour the creamy mixture into the flour and mix until smooth.

4. Add dried currants and mix. If the dough is falling apart, you can add a little cream or water.

5. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of about 2.5 cm. Cut into rounds using a pastry cutter. You can also make triangular buns: divide the dough into 2 portions, shape each portion into a 2.5 cm thick disk, and cut into triangles with a knife.

6. Place the buns on a greased baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Separate the white from the remaining egg, beat it, and brush the buns with it.
