    Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use sour cream of any fat content.

    Break the chicken eggs into a mixer or food processor bowl and add salt and granulated sugar. You can optionally add vanilla sugar. Beat on high speed for about 3–4 minutes until light and fluffy.

    Add the cocoa powder and wheat flour in portions, gently folding them into the whipped mixture without beating.

    You should end up with smooth chocolate dough.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease the pan with vegetable oil, including the sides. Pour the sponge cake batter into the pan and place it on the middle rack of the oven.

    Bake the sponge cake for about 30 minutes, then remove the pan by turning it on its side so the cake does not collapse while cooling. Let the sponge cake cool completely.
