Sour cream frosting for cake
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To obtain a thinner cream for dry cake layers, you can add some warm milk to the sour cream. You can also make the cream chocolate-flavored using milk. Simply melt a chocolate bar over a water bath with a few tablespoons of milk, then mix the chocolate mixture into the sour cream cream and stir well. To create a multicolored cream, divide the mixture into several portions and add food coloring. Serve chilled.
Instructions

Step 1

Place the sour cream in a small saucepan, then add 100 grams of sugar. Set the saucepan over a water bath. However, the water in the bottom saucepan should not touch the bottom of the one containing the sour cream.

Step 2

Place the double boiler setup over low heat and begin cooking, stirring the mixture with a spoon every 15 minutes. You will need to cook the sour cream with sugar for quite a long time—about an hour and a half. The main thing is not to forget to stir the mixture occasionally.

Step 3

If you see that all the liquid has evaporated from the cream, add a little water. After 90 minutes, when the mixture acquires a light caramel color, add the butter to the saucepan. Stir the cream until the butter dissolves. Do not turn off the heat during this time.

Step 4

Remove the cream from the double boiler and gently whisk it until completely smooth. If desired, you can add vanilla or any flavoring. Once the cream has cooled, it can be used for cakes and other baked goods.
