Puff pastries
Description
The recipe won’t take much of your time. Pastry made from puff dough is a very simple and quick way to make something for tea for your household or unexpected guests. The charm of this recipe is that you can use almost any homemade jam or jelly as the filling. Thanks to the raised edges, the filling doesn’t run out, so you can combine jams and bake pastries with different fillings at the same time. Feel free to experiment, using boiled condensed milk, caramelized fruit, or sweet cottage cheese mass with dried fruit for the filling. The recipe is versatile, and the pastry always turns out incredibly successful and delicious. Make a note for yourself: serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all ingredients. Thaw the dough in advance at room temperature. For the filling I am using strawberry jam.
- 2
Step 2

My puff pastry consists of two sheets. Roll it out in one direction and cut it into squares. The number depends on the desired size of the pastries. I have puff pastry that doesn't require rolling, so I simply cut each sheet into 4 pieces.

Step 3

Then pinch the edges of each square to form rims and join them together. Prick the bottoms with a fork so they do not puff up, and fill the “little baskets” with jam or any thick preserve.

Step 4

Transfer the prepared pieces to a baking sheet greased with oil, brush with egg yolk, and bake in the oven at 190–200°C for about 25 minutes.

Step 5

The “Slastyonki” puff pastries are ready. If you like, dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
