Description
Ready-made puff pastry is a lifesaver for today's home cook. Making puff pastry from scratch at home is a lengthy process. In my freezer, there's always a packet or two of frozen puff pastry. From it, you can bake many delicious treats. I'd like to show you how to make jam-filled pastries using exactly this kind of pastry. It's very simple, very quick, and leaves no messy dishes in the kitchen. True, these tasty pastries disappear quickly too. So here's a recipe for jam-filled pastries with photos. Step 1

Take the ready-made puff pastry out of the freezer and thaw it at room temperature. Then roll it out into a sheet 2-3 mm thick. To prevent the dough from sticking to the table and rolling pin, sprinkle with flour. Cut the dough into rectangles.

Make cuts on one half of each rectangle.

I had very sweet apple jam, so I decided to slightly sour it. I squeezed lemon juice into it and added lemon zest.

Place the jam on the part of the dough that has no cuts.

Cover the filling with the part that has cuts, and carefully seal the edges. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the top of each pastry with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes. Once cooled, dust the pastries with powdered sugar.
