Description

Delicious pastries for the whole family. This simple recipe for cheese and sausage pastries is perfect for home cooks who, like me, don't enjoy making dough from scratch but still love enjoying homemade baked goods. The secret to its quick preparation lies in using ready-made dough, so all you need to do is place sausages and cheese on top. By the way, the filling is also very versatile, made from ingredients that everyone usually has in their fridge. So, to make these cheese and sausage pastries at home, you won't even need to go to the store—especially if you keep a few packs of ready-made dough in the freezer, just like I do. Serve them cooled or slightly warm.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, we need to thaw the puff pastry, and while it's thawing, we whisk an egg in a small bowl, cut the cheese into 12 bars, and peel the sausages from their casing.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

When the dough thaws, place it on a floured surface and roll it out into a thinner sheet.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Cut the sheet into rectangles, slightly longer than the sausage.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Place one sausage and a piece of cheese on the edge of each rectangle. My package contains 2 dough sheets, each yielding 6 rectangles for pastries, so there will be 12 in total.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Wrap the sausage and cheese in dough, tightly sealing the edges so the cheese doesn't leak out during baking.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Place the future pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the dough on top with beaten egg.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Bake the pastries in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees until golden brown, approximately 20-30 minutes.
