Fish pastries
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Delicious pastries made from puff pastry can be filled with various types of fillings—both sweet and savory. Creative home cooks bake turnovers with all sorts of ingredients. I suggest you try making an original fish-filled turnover. Just a plain turnover is so ordinary. But a flaky little basket with a golden cheesy crust—this is almost a masterpiece. Even if it takes you an extra half hour to prepare, the dish is well worth it. Let me show you how to make fish turnovers. The pastry is ready. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Thaw the puff pastry and divide it into 4 parts.
- 2
Step 2

We will need small deep plates that won't crack when heated.
- 3
Step 3

Roll each piece of dough into a circle large enough to cover the small plates.
- 4
Step 4

Cover the small dishes with rolled-out dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with foil. The dough should be no thinner than 1 cm.
- 5
Step 5

Bake the pastry shells in the oven at 200 degrees until golden brown.
- 6
Step 6

While the pastries are baking, let's prepare the filling. Cut the fish fillet into small pieces.
- 7
Step 7

Fry the fish pieces in vegetable oil, add finely chopped onion and grated carrot. Season with salt and pepper, and simmer until cooked. The finished filling should not contain a lot of juice!
- 8
Step 8

We take the ready pastries out of the oven and carefully remove them from the plates using a knife. This gives us these little puff pastry baskets.
- 9
Step 9

Fill our baskets with the fish filling, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake in the oven for another 15 minutes.
