Puff Pastries with Camembert and Pear

40 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The pastry is simple and quick to make. Instead of Camembert, you can use Brie or Gorgonzola cheese. Thyme can be replaced with fresh finely chopped rosemary leaves or freshly ground black pepper.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for making the pastries. Use a ripe, juicy, and firm pear. You can bake the pastry as a pie, but it is more convenient to divide the dough into portions and make individual pastries. If the honey is thick, warm it in a double boiler until it reaches a liquid consistency. Almond petals can be replaced with any nuts, first toasting them in a dry pan and grinding them.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Cut the pear into quarters, remove the core and seeds, and slice into thin pieces with a knife or a special slicer. To keep the pear from browning, sprinkle the slices with lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Thaw the puff pastry in the refrigerator in advance. Place the puff pastry on parchment paper lightly dusted with a small amount of cornstarch. Cut the dough into equal-sized portion pieces.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Pierce the centers of the dough portions with a fork and spread a thin layer of cream cheese, leaving about 1 centimeter from the edges. Slice the Camembert into thin slices and place them on the dough over the cream cheese layer.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Place two or three pear slices on each camembert portion and lightly press the filling down into the dough. Brush the pears on top with melted butter using a pastry brush and sprinkle with almond petals.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Transfer the ready pastries on the parchment to a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes, until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

On the finished pastries, while they are still hot, drizzle a thin stream of liquid honey and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves.

The pastries can be served warm or chilled. The baked goods turn out delicious and fragrant—just the thing for cozy get-togethers with friends over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.
