Layered fish cake
Description
P.S. Manufacturer's tip: you can slightly warm the cake in the microwave for just 15-20 seconds—the cheese will melt a bit, and the cake will develop a different flavor. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

2. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse vegetable grater.
- 3
Step 3

3. Sauté the onion a little, add the carrot, cook until done, season with a little salt and add your favorite spices, then set aside to cool.
- 4
Step 4

4. Remove the backbone bones from the fish, then mash it well with a fork together with the liquid.
- 5
Step 5

5. We're done with the preparation. Now let's get straight to the cake. Take the first layer and lightly spread a little mayonnaise on it.
- 6
Step 6

6. Place the onion and carrots on it (it's good if they are still warm). Spread them out with a fork over the entire surface.
- 7
Step 7

7. Take the second cake layer. Again, lightly spread mayonnaise on it and carefully place it, mayonnaise-side down, onto the carrots. Once more, spread mayonnaise on top and add the fish, distributing it evenly across the entire surface of the layer with a fork.

Step 8

8. It turns out that the second and third layers will be coated with mayonnaise on both top and bottom. Take the third layer, spread it with mayonnaise, place it on the fish, spread again with mayonnaise, then grate cheese over it using a coarse grater, covering the entire surface of the layer. Take the last, fourth layer, spread one side with mayonnaise and place it, mayo-side down, onto the cheese. That's it, the cake is ready. I don't sprinkle or decorate the top, as it's more convenient to eat without toppings. But if you're preparing it for guests, you can make an effort to decorate. The cake should sit for at least an hour to allow it to soak through.
