Layered cottage cheese pie
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Baked items made from puff pastry always turn out light and delicious. This pie is no exception. The tasty cottage cheese filling with a slight tartness of blackcurrant berries—what could be better with a cup of tea or coffee? If you prefer a plain cottage cheese filling without additions, simply omit the blackcurrant and starch from the recipe. Follow all other steps as instructed. Let me tell you how. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Mash the cottage cheese well to remove any lumps. Add the egg and one and a half tablespoons of sugar. Mix everything until smooth.
- 2
Step 2

Sprinkle the currant berries with starch.
- 3
Step 3

Add the berries to the cottage cheese mixture and gently stir. Try not to crush the berries.
- 4
Step 4

Divide the dough into two parts, roll out each part into a rectangle about 3 mm thick. Place one layer of the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and prick it with a fork.
- 5
Step 5

Now place the filling, leaving a 1-1.5 centimeter border from the edge of the dough.
- 6
Step 6

Place the second layer of dough on top. Press the edges together with your fingers to seal them. Then go over them with a fork—for extra security and a nice appearance.
- 7
Step 7

Poke the top layer of dough with a fork, then brush the top with plain water.
- 8
Step 8

Sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Then place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake. The cake will be ready in about 40-45 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Let the pie cool, then slice and serve.
