Layered meat pie
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. Meat pies can be made with yeast dough or flaky pastry, or even with yeast-free puff pastry. For making flaky meat pies, I use half pork and half beef mince (this way it's not too fatty). The pie also turns out very tasty with chicken or turkey. You can prepare the dough yourself using a recipe from the website, but I decided not to bother and bought ready-made dough instead. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Thaw the dough.
- 3
Step 3

While the dough is thawing, don't waste time—prepare the filling. Slice leek and onion into half-rings; you can chop the onion into small cubes if you prefer. Sauté them in a small amount of oil in a frying pan until golden and translucent.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the minced meat to the onion. Press the garlic through a garlic press and also add it to the meat.
- 5
Step 5

Slightly sauté the ground meat until it browns, but do not fully cook it. Otherwise, the pie will turn out dry. Stir the meat constantly, breaking up lumps with a fork or spatula.
- 6
Step 6

Add finely chopped herbs to the prepared filling.
- 7
Step 7

Roll out the defrosted dough on a sheet of parchment paper. If joining two layers, you can brush the joining area with butter or vegetable oil (for strength).
- 8
Step 8

Place the dough on a baking sheet, you can lightly grease it with oil. Or line it with parchment paper to prevent burning.
- 9
Step 9

Place the filling in the center and spread it evenly.
- 10
Step 10

Seal the edges, leaving a small hole in the center (so the dough doesn't become soggy and the juice can evaporate). Beat the egg and brush it over the pie to make it shiny.
- 11
Step 11

Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. The pie should turn golden and nicely browned.
- 12
Step 12

You can serve the ready-made layered meat pie with sour cream or tomato sauce.
