Puff pastry tubes with whipped cream
Description
Such puff pastry rolls go well with any tea party or children’s celebration. Cut the pastry into strips most easily with a pizza cutter. Before filling the rolls with cream, let them cool completely. Serve chilled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all necessary ingredients for making puff pastry horns with whipped cream. Take out the pastry dough ahead of time so it can thaw.
- 2
Step 2

Lightly flour your work surface. Roll the dough a little in one direction into a rectangle. Cut it lengthwise into strips 2–2.5 cm wide.

Step 3

If you don’t have special cones, you can easily make them from aluminum foil. Fold a piece of foil in half and shape it into a cone. For stiffness, line the inside with parchment paper.
- 4
Step 4

Wind overlapping strips of dough onto the cones and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Do not grease the cones.
- 5
Step 5

Brush the surface of the tubes with beaten egg.
- 6
Step 6

Place in a hot oven and bake the tubes for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
- 7
Step 7

Remove the tubes while they’re still warm, carefully twisting the cones.
- 8
Step 8

Add powdered sugar to cold cream and whip until fluffy.
- 9
Step 9

Fill the insides of the tubes with whipped cream. You can do this with a piping bag or a teaspoon.
- 10
