Layered rolls
Description
Perfect for serving with tea and coffee. Although I'm not particularly fond of sweets, there are some things I could never resist, and these little rolls will always be my top favorite. Of course, if you make them entirely from scratch, it will take a lot of time and effort. But you can always simplify the task, and now I'll show you how to make flaky pastries quickly and easily. All you need is ready-made puff pastry (preferably yeast-based) and a few additional ingredients. Once you start preparing them, you'll immediately see just how simple it is. In this easy recipe for puff pastry rolls, I'll show you how to use ordinary baking paper to create nearly perfect cones, which we'll then fill with a delicate meringue cream. After that, all that's left is to enjoy this wonderful treat whose taste and aroma will take you back to your childhood. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, we take our ready-made dough, thaw it if necessary, and then roll out each sheet into a rectangle about 28-30 cm in length.
- 2
Step 2

Now cut the rectangles into strips about 2.5 cm wide.
- 3
Step 3

Take parchment paper and cut it into triangles, the same number as the strips of dough you have obtained.
- 4
Step 4

Roll each triangle into a cone, this will be the frame for the tube.
- 5
Step 5

Take the first strip of dough and carefully wrap it around the cone, making each new turn overlap the previous one, leaving no gaps between the dough.
- 6
Step 6

Place the cone-shaped dough on the baking sheet, and repeat the same with the remaining dough strips.
- 7
Step 7

In a small bowl, beat the egg and use it to brush the surface of the pastries. By the way, you can use the leftover egg yolks from the cream for this.
- 8
Step 8

Place the rolls in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Meanwhile, let's prepare the cream. Mix water and sugar in a bowl, and heat this mixture to a temperature of 118 degrees. Pour egg whites into a separate container, add lemon acid, and beat everything with a mixer until a thick foam forms.
- 10
Step 10

Combine the protein mixture with the sugar syrup and again beat at high speed until the protein mixture is completely cooled.
- 11
Step 11

Transfer the cream into a pastry bag, and remove the paper casing from the pastry shells.
- 12
Step 12

Fill each tube with the prepared cream, and if desired, dip the edges of the tubes in chopped nuts.
- 13
Step 13

And we sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Believe me, they taste just as amazing as they look.
