Quick puff pastry
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. This recipe is ideal when you really crave flaky pastries but don't have time or energy to work with traditional dough. Of course, the method for making quick puff pastry differs from that of classic puff pastry, and the result is something in between puff and shortcrust pastry, but it's still very delicious. I recently found this recipe on a cooking website and tried it just once. I was pleased with the result. Today I'd like to make this quick puff pastry together with you. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Put the butter in the refrigerator 30 minutes in advance, so it will be easier to grate and it won't melt as quickly.
- 2
Step 2

First, mix the egg, vinegar, mineral water, and a little salt. Whisk the liquid thoroughly with a whisk until the egg is completely dissolved.
- 3
Step 3

Now grate the butter on a coarse grater, generously coating it with flour. I actually dip the piece of butter into the flour on all sides, then also rub the grated butter with flour to form crumbs.
- 4
Step 4

Then make a depression in the resulting oily crumbs and pour the previously prepared liquid mixture into it.
- 5
Step 5

Slightly press the resulting mixture with your hands and gather it into a ball. Just press, do not knead the dough. And everything should be done very, very quickly so that the butter doesn't have time to melt.
- 6
Step 6

That's it! Wrap the ready ball of quick puff pastry in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours. If you can leave it longer, that would be even better. But since this is quick pastry, 2 hours will be enough. During this time, you can take a rest, run to the supermarket, or pick up your child from school. When you return, you can start preparing delicious homemade baked goods! Enjoy your cooking!
