Canned plums
Description
Gone are the days when fruit was preserved for winter whole. Our grandmothers used to can apples, pears, and plums, and in winter they enjoyed such treats with great pleasure. You won't find anything like that in stores nowadays. I suggest we carry on this wonderful tradition and revisit one of those recipes. Canned plums make an excellent winter dessert—and a natural one at that. Jars keep for up to a year in a cool place.
