Plum pie on beer
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I really love plum pastries! Try to choose firm fruits with bright color and pronounced aroma. Whenever possible, use dark muscovado sugar in baking—it gives the pastry a beautiful deep color and extra aroma.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Beat softened butter with regular sugar until the sugar granules dissolve. Add dark sugar to the beer and let it dissolve. The beer should be covered with a lid to prevent it from going flat.
- 2
Step 2

Add the eggs to the butter one at a time, beating each one thoroughly.
- 3
Step 3

Sift both types of flour, mix them with baking soda and spices. Add a small pinch of salt. The salt will enhance the flavor of the sweet baked goods and make it more pronounced.

Step 4

Pour half of the beer into the dough and add half of the flour mixture. Mix the dough at low speed using a mixer. Then add the remaining half of the beer and flour. Finally, pour balsamic vinegar into the dough. You can substitute it with lemon juice, but the aromatic vinegar will enhance the cake's flavor. Nuances in cooking are very important!

Step 5

Pour the batter into a prepared 24 cm diameter pan, preferably a springform pan, well greased with butter and dusted with flour. The pan should have high sides, as the batter rises significantly.
- 6
Step 6

Cut the plum into slices.
- 7
Step 7

Place the plums on the pie, sprinkle with a little sugar, then with almond petals and a bit of caramel.
- 8
Step 8

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 40–45 minutes. After 20 minutes, when the cake has risen well and starts browning, reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and continue baking until a wooden skewer inserted comes out dry. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan, then carefully transfer it to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.

Step 9

When serving, lightly dust the top with powdered sugar.
