Plum tincture on alcohol
Description
The drink is quick and easy to prepare. Serve the plum liqueur chilled. Its shelf life is 4–6 months when stored in a cool, dark place. It's best to make this drink using "Hungarian" plums, as they are less sour in taste. The drink is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. If you like cinnamon, add it to the ingredient list as well.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the plums in water and remove the stems. Cut each fruit in half and remove the pit. If the fruits are not very ripe, cut them with a knife.
- 3
Step 3

Cut ripe fruits directly into a container, layering them with sugar. For not-too-ripe fruits, slice them into a saucepan or pot, sprinkle with sugar, and add water.
- 4
Step 4

Simmer for about 5-10 minutes until the slices are soft. Plums change color during heat treatment, so these fruits should be slightly cooked. Cool the contents of the container.
- 5
Step 5

Place in a jar or jug and pour over alcohol. At this stage, you can add a bit of flavoring: cinnamon, vanilla, or a star anise pod. Close the container with a lid and store in a dark, cool place for 5–10 days, shaking daily. If the plums were not cooked, the drink should be infused for at least 20 days.
- 6
Step 6

After that, strain the drink and remove the pulp.
- 7
Step 7

Pour the tincture into a decanter and taste it. After 1-2 days, the drink will become clear, and the cloudiness will settle.
