This sauce is usually served with meatballs, but it also goes well with vegetables or plain meat, and can be used in casseroles. The higher the cream fat content, the softer and tastier the sauce will be. Be sure to add the broth and cream to the flour mixture in small portions, mixing thoroughly each time. Otherwise, lumps will form in the mixture, which are difficult to break up by hand.
