
Creamed Spinach
Description
This appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. Spinach is rich in vitamins and very healthy. By adding cheese, sour cream, and a little flour, you can make a delicious appetizer that both adults and children will enjoy. Prepare a cream sauce, lightly sauté the spinach with onion, then transfer everything to a baking dish. Bake in the oven and enjoy. It can be served warm or chilled.

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Wash and chop the onion, grate the cheese. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. When the butter starts to bubble, add the flour. Stir until the mixture is smooth.

2. Reduce the heat to medium and add the milk to the butter-flour mixture. Cook until thickened. Then add the grated nutmeg, stir, and remove from the heat.

3. In a skillet, melt a spoonful of butter. Sauté the chopped onion in it over medium heat until soft.

4. Once the onion has softened, add the spinach. Put a small bunch of spinach into the pan, stir, let it wilt, then add the next bunch.

5. Drain excess liquid from the pan and add the prepared sauce.

6. Add grated cheese and sour cream to the pan. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix.

7. Transfer the spinach with sauce to a baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 180°C. Bake the creamed spinach for 35–40 minutes.

8. The finished creamed spinach will bubble, thicken, and turn slightly brown.
